To All My Valentines

Hello everyone!

My post today will be short because I seem to have contracted a cold.

Today I want to talk to you all about being safe on valentines day. I know a lot of single people decide to go out to bars to drink with friends and maybe meet someone new. This is totally fine and part of the fun of being single on valentines day. However sometimes girls can get down or sad on this day of they don’t have someone special to share it with. Drinking and partying when you are sad is never a good thing! It can lead to over drinking and bad decisions that you may later regret!

If you decide to go out and have fun, good for you! Why not make the best out of this holiday! But please be safe and think before it is to late and you are left with regrets that could have been avoided.

Its okay to be single on valentines day and you shouldn’t be sad. Valentines day is a day to celebrate your love for other people so who says your valentine has to be a significant other. It could be a friend a family member or even yourself. If you are single this valentines day enjoy it, and just be thankful for all the loved ones you have in your life.

You will all be in my heart this valentines day!

Love you all ❤

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Hello everyone today I want to talk to you about something that has been a huge part of my childhood! HARRY POTTER! It’s the story of the boy who lived, growing up orphaned after his parent’s death Harry lived with his aunt uncle and spoiled cousin! Just as he begins to give up hope of a life of happiness when he discovers something magical. “You are a wizard, Harry” Then begins the adventure of a lifetime.

An adventure filled with friendship, struggles, fear, and magic. This book series helped so many people grow up and gave us all hope that good really does triumph over evil. Helped us realize that a good friend can be your most valuable and that things are not always what they seem.

These books really did help raise me, although I never got my Hogwarts letter on my 11th birthday I still believe in magic and friendship. The Harry Potter series opened my world to reading and fantasy, to this day fantasy books are my first choice. Because of this love for Harry Potter, I have found books like the  Battle for Honor Series (Gates and Rebirth).

It is amazing how a single book can change the course of a person life.

Well known on to some exciting news!

J.K. Rowling has announced the 8th Harry Potter book release date!

JULY 31ST 2016!

The 8th Harry Potter book is called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. It jumps forward 19 years; I can’t wait to know what Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione are up to.  JK Rowling is a fantastic author and this time with the help of Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, it is sure to be another classic but why take my word.  Let’s allow Mr. Ollivander to describe it “But I think it is clear that we can expect great things from you.”

“It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy, he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.”

Well, mean less to say but my copy is pre-ordered!

While you wait for this new installment of Harry Potter, make sure you check out the Battle For Honor Series! (Gates and Rebirth)

I Start Every Day with a Cup Of Tea & A Smile

Hello, everyone!

Happy Tuesday, I wanted to write to you today about being optimistic! I know that sometimes its hard to see the glass half full and that is a problem that must be fixed.

I am one of those people that try to see the positives. I admit that everyone and a while the world gets in my way and even I seem to become a downer. When I am sick, I am the worst a cold can put me in a miserable mood for a week. But even then it’s important to realize that the energy you put out in the world will always come back to you, and who wants all that negative energy.

My best advice is to start everyday positive! Eat a healthy breakfast, drink your favorite tea or coffee, and smile! A smile is the best way to stay positive. It makes you feel better and makes everyone else see you as a kind and open person!

I always start my days with a tea made with french vanilla creamer and a smile. I smile at myself in the mirror because a woman is the most beautiful when she is smiling, and who doesn’t want to feel beautiful?

A smile is just as contagious as a frown. In most cases simply smiling at someone will get you a friendly smile in return! The most obvious example of positive energy returning to you. Every once and a while you may get the downer who scoffs or frowns at you but that is their own problem and not yours!

Let’s spread positivity today and push the negative energy away!

I love you all!

Rebirth

As you all know, I LOVE the Battle For Honor book series! I talked a lot about Gates in the past, but RJ Brousseau has done it again with the Sequel!

The sequel is called Rebirth! I am a strong believer that originals are usually the best but in this case, RJ Brousseau has stepped up to that challenge and wrote a sequel that has surpassed all my expectations! I honestly believe that Rebirth is even better then Gates.

Many of you had read Gates and Rebirth takes place right where we left off. Make sure you pick up Rebirth to learn even more about your favorite characters, as this book goes more in depth about each one of them.

A few of my favorite parts of this book are the way that RJ Brousseau approaches necromancers and vampires! He does not approach these in the typical cookie cutter fashion. He doesn’t fall into the typical stereotypes that come along with necromancers and vampires! The book introduces a new race and different classes that we have not seen before. Some of the elves are becoming unhappy with the way things are and just who is the shadow knight?

I do not want to give too much information away so that you are just as surprised as I was with all the unexpected twists and turns. I truly recommend picking up this fast paced book. Rebirth has a theme of never abandoning hope even through all the deception and betrayal. I think this is a great message for all of you because hope should never be lost.

Below is a synopsis of Rebirth as well as links to amazon for both Rebirth and the original Gates. I am anxiously awaiting the third installment of Battle For Honor!

The winds whip over the hallowed lands of Agora, as all they have ever known is now changing, everything sacred has been shattered and crushed to dust.  It has been six years since the dwarf capital Brinstone Gates fell to the invading elf army, but to many, it has been a lifetime.  Things haven’t been this bleak since the Great War oppression washed over the lands many generations ago.

The dwarfs have been allowed to establish a temporary home in MorBlanc, alongside the humans, yet they continue to be persecuted by both known and unknown forces.  Thorel is king and desperately tries to keep his people safe, while struggling with everyday politics.  Eagan, a former member of the human royal court, is now the sitting queen for the dwarfs, yet exactly where do her loyalties lie?  Thorel’s inner circle continues to support the king, although allegiances will be tested.

The elves prosper since their conquest, however life is now very different from before, and not everyone is happy.  Kenric is wrestling with his inner demons, unable to comprehend why he suffers as he rises to ultimate power.  He continues to remain obsessed with his plans to completely wipe out every dwarf, even as a larger goal is in his sights.  Celeste no longer speaks with the goddess, instead she longs for more power, and freedom from her ever distant husband.  Allies become enemies and alliances never before imaged surface, while the elves consolidate power, tightening their grip around the world’s throat.

The humans are growing tired of sharing their home.  Their troubled king, Travis, tries to find a way to deal with the public outcry over his decision to aid the dwarfs, all the while feeling his power slipping away.  The humans, as well as all the other non-elf races, are feeling isolated, and fear they may be the next on the elf king’s agenda.

The savior that descended amongst the dwarf people died by a single arrow, and with that, almost all hope died with him.  The avatars are once again dispatched to the physical plane, but this time without guidance.  Along with these heroes, a new evil is unleashed upon the world, known only as the shadow knight.

Magic is even more powerful, and more unstable.  Those that are able to control the energies are now able to accomplish great feats, or are consumed by the very powers they crave.  Witness the discovery of new races and lands, and watch the vampire clans unite to form an independent nation.

How does Thorel, the reluctant king of the dwarfs, respond to these new threats?  Who else will stand up against the elf conquest?

The Reception

The first dance, the cake, the toast, the parent dances! All the magical moments of a reception! The ceremony was over, and we were finally married. Time to just have fun, celebrate, and enjoy the rest of the night with our friends and family!

We all arrived to the reception hall; we were announced into the hall filled with our loved ones, and then we danced. Our song was Thinking Out Loud and even though we may be the world’s worst dancers, everything felt right.

The toasts were next; they were given by my husband’s two best men. They were funny, smart, and witty. We took our formal photos smiled and laughed.

We cut our delicious red velvet snowflake cake. We had our parent dances, me and my dad danced to Vienna by Billy Joel and Tyler and his mom danced to My Wish by Rascal Flatts.

After this the dance floor was open, and everyone danced until the end of the night!

My wedding was perfect! From start to finish, I would not have changed anything.

I hope you have enjoyed the details of my wedding I have shared with you over the last week! This will be the last post in my Wedding series. But don’t worry I will be continuing to blog about everything else under the sun!

Tomorrow is our one month anniversary, Its hard to believe that I have already been married for a month! This last month has been incredible I hope you all find that one special person who can make you feel unconditionally loved, it is the most magical feeling in the world!

Love you all

Michelle

The Ceremony

We had arrived at the church 10 minutes before the ceremony started. We said a prayer and lined up for the march down the aisle. One by one my bridesmaids began to disappear through the doors and down the aisle. Before I knew it, the doors had closed again, and it was just my dad and me.

At this point, my nerves were at an all-time high. I had the same feeling you get right before you get in the world’s most intense roller coaster. My two cousins who were in charge of the doors were listening for the music to change as I began to hyperventilate.

The doors open and I looked up to see Tyler at the end of the aisle. All of a sudden all my nerves left it was just him and me. From there everything was perfect. I kissed my dad and mom at the end of the aisle and took the hand of the man who would become my husband in just minutes.

We listened to the pastor talk about what marriage means, Tyler’s cousin and my uncle read scripture, we let the unity candle, said “I Do”, and had our first kiss as husband and wife. Before I knew it, I was walking back down the aisle with my husband.

Everything was perfect, and we were married!

“I want to Look like the Woman He Fell In Love With”

My alarm started screeching at 9 AM. After not getting home till almost 2 am from the rehearsal dinner it seemed to be way to early for this. As I went to press the snooze button, something stopped me. It was my wedding day!

Believe me, when I say I am not a morning person, but I was on January 8th. I knew I needed all the time to prepare for 6 PM. Just 9 hours till the walk down the aisle. My morning began with several texts from my friends and family asking how I was holding up so far. I was surprisingly calm for the morning of the day that would change my life.

I started with my typical routine a quick shower, healthy breakfast, brushing my teeth, and then on to the fun morning with my mom… First I got my hair done at 11, nothing to fancy just some lovely curls. After that, I got my makeup done at a different salon. To me, it was important that I looked like me. I wanted Tyler too look at me and think that’s the woman I fell in love with. The last thing I wanted was over the top makeup that made me look like someone else. I did not want anything over the top, but rather a more polished version of my everyday appearance.

After this, I had to go straight to the hotel to meet my bridesmaids and the photographer. At this point, everything started to feel real! I had three hours till I walked down the aisle, to the man of my dreams! I never doubted that I should be getting married, I felt like the luckiest girl in the world on the luckiest day of her life! But I couldn’t help but feel anxious, it was the day I had been dreaming of since my first fairy tale. A day that I have built up to be the most wonderful and important day in my life. A day that will begin my new life and finally join Tyler and me on a journey through life as husband and wife. All these things started to run through my head as the time got closer and closer to 6 PM.

I was surround by my family and friends, but all I could think about was the butterflies in my stomach. The excitement… the nerves… So many emotion! The photographer kept snapping photos of us getting ready, we posed and smiled and then it was time.

5:45 Time to head to the church….

An Open Letter to My Bridesmaids

It’s one of the most important days of your life. You have found the perfect man and fell head over heals in love and the time has come to take the wonderful walk down the aisle to say “I Do.” The morning of is filled with excitement, anxiety, happiness, and the smallest amount of fear.

At this point, the most important people in your world are the girls who have dedicated their lives the last few weeks to listening to you complain. Complain, about the little details that honestly won’t matter, held your hand through the stress of planning, spent hundreds of dollars on a dress you picked out for them, and cried with you when you finally said yes to your beautiful white dress. These girls become your backbone and support while planning your wedding and become your strength and sanity the day of your wedding.

I would like to send out an open letter to the girls who held my hand through this craziness and kicked their heals off to dance with me after it was all done and time to celebrate!

Dear Ashley, Kelsey, Heather, Jill M, Jill C, Cassie, Jadelyn, and Brittany.

Your love and support has meant so much to me. Since the day, you said yes to being in my wedding you have been my guardian angels. It is an incredibly hard job keeping me sane on any given day never mind my wedding day, or all the days leading up to it. Without you, I highly doubt I would have been able to make it down that aisle.

You were there for every minute of my chaotic planning whether it be in person to hold my hard or over the phone listening to my anxiety and excitement. My wedding day was perfect; It was straight out of my dreams, and it would not have been this way if it was not for all of you!

I apologize for my craziness and stress that I projected on to all you through this process. Now that I look back there was no need for any of it regardless of if all the centerpieces were in the exact center of the tables or if Burgundy was a good accent color for the reception. It didn’t matter if I wore pink or nude lipstick and having the red velvet cake be the perfect shade of red was foolish. But regardless you all talked me down from the ridiculous worries calmly without trying to shake the crazy out of me.

You all were so special to me before all the wedding planning began and my love for you all has only grown more and more since then.

Ashley (maid of Honor) : You have always been someone I look up to. Growing up I could only wish that I would end up like you! I may not have picked up your good social skills, but you have taught me so much. You may only be five years older than me, but you are my sister and I owe you so much! I am so lucky that you are my family because we will have this bond and friendship forever!

Kelsey (maid of Honor) : Best friends since November 1st, 1993, how lonely you must have been for those six months before I was born lol. I am so lucky to have a cousin I was able to grow up with. Being the same age bonded us to share all of the crazy stages life throws at young girls. As my cousin I know we will always have a bond, no matter where our lives take us we will always have each other. I guess this is one of the best parts about having a cousin as a best friend!

Heather: My new little sister! I have never had a little sister before, but I am so glad I have you! You have always been so easy to talk too, since the first day I met your family I have always admired you! You march to your own beat and have the most contagious personality; you have so much to offer the world. I am so proud to have you as a sister!

Jill M: My new big sister! You are one of the nicest people I have ever met! I love how I feel like I always have something to talk about with you! Whether it be fashion, celebrity gossip, our love for the same TV shows, Bickfords, or new books to read! I am so glad to have you as a big sister; we have so much in common, and I always look forward to texting you after the new episodes of our favorite shows! P.S. I am calling Lauren B to win Ben’s heart this season!

Jill C: I honestly do not know what I can say to you that hasn’t already been said! You have been my best friend for 17 years and even though at this point we know way too much about each other and have spent more time together than any two people should you still are one of my favorite people in this world! I look back on any of my big moments in the past 17 years, and you were there for them all. From the first day of first grade till today you have always been there! You will always be my Carrie, and I will always be you, Charlotte! (SITC)

Cassie: Roommates are always friends forever! I am so happy that I ended up rooming with you our sophomore year! You dealt with my crazy then, and you still do now. You are one of the few people that can always get my to open up and just enjoy life. I also think you got the most of my freak out texts leading up to the wedding!

Jadelyn: You are the easiest person to get to know! You are so bubbly and open no one can help but love you! You have been there for me and Tylers entire relationship and having you in my wedding was so special! Thanks for dancing with me all night!

Brittany: My new cousin! First I can’t believe we went to the same high school and never knew each other! You are a life saver, and I am so glad you were apart of my special day! When we told everyone at Christmas we would be getting married in 2 weeks I was nervous how everyone would take it, but you were so excited and supportive all my anxiety instantly left. I was already excited to be saying I do but somehow you made me even more excited! I am so glad that you and I are family!

You all are so beautiful inside and out! You looked stunning in your navy dresses, I love each and every one of you! I owe you all so much more than a letter! You all will forever be my girls, best friends, family, and bridesmaids!

Love

Michelle ❤

The Wedding Planning!

If you ever want to test your mental health try planning a wedding in three weeks! From the dress to the church to the reception to the music to the food to the suit to the guests there is so much to think about when planning a wedding!

I was very lucky I had a great support system with my husband, parents, in-laws, and wedding party. Even thought these three weeks were filled with stress I look back on them with such fondness! These were the days that I planned one of the most important days of my life!

We started by picking the church. We decided on the church that my husband has gone to since he was a child. It was beautiful, and the pastor was amazing. We picked our date based on the availability of the church and then everything started to fall into place. I found my dress at Davids Bridal, was able to get it altered, so it was done the day before the wedding. My eight bridesmaids looked beautiful in short navy dresses, and Tyler would wear a navy suit and his groomsmen a navy suit coats with khaki pants.

Since our wedding was just after new years with plenty of snow on the ground, we decided to keep it a winter theme. We found decorations and favors easily since everything was still on sale from after Christmas. We ordered our seating chart and guest book tree off of etsy.

We had the reception at the Tewksbury Country Club, which is absolutely beautiful and perfect for our wedding. We picked our food off their menu which included, hamburger sliders, coconut chicken, grilled cheese and tomato soup, and a pasta bar. Our photographer moved the date so that she could do our wedding. My husband new of a great DJ, who graduated with his sister.

Everything came together perfectly!

The Wedding.. My Dream!

Hello everyone!

So sorry I have not blogged in the last few months! With the wedding plans my senior year and trying to have some sort of social life I have been BUSY!

If you follow me on any of my social media sites you know that I tied the knot! On January 8th 2016 I said “I Do” to my best friend and the love of my life! I have been loving my new life as Mrs. Trites and have been enjoying my happily ever after!

Since so many of you have been sending me messages asking for updates on what I have been doing or just to say congratulations I thought It would be nice if I could share some details with you all!

So my wedding day was perfect, it was actually more then what I had dreamed of since I was a little girl! The man I married is more amazing then any man I could ever dream up. He is the kindest, most loving man I have ever met. Not only does he make me happy but he makes me feel like no matter where I am I am home as long as I am with him I could never be lost! I hope you all wait for the right man because you all deserve to feel the way he makes me feel.

I’m sure that some of you who keep up with my life were shocked at the wedding date. Yes, it was supposed to be in September but sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you just have to go with the flow. We ended up planning an  entire wedding at a venue that was not practical for our needs. It was to small for the amount of people we felt needed to be there. So while we were on break from school we planned a wedding. Something that takes people months or even years to plan we got together in 3 weeks! and it was perfect!

Over the next week I will be posting a post each day with more details and photos of the wedding! I hope you all enjoy this, and thank you for all your love and support!!

Love,

The New Mrs.  Trites
