Workout Wednesday- Yoga

Hello Everyone,

As we mentioned before our blog is in the middle of some changes including creating a few new posts each week that will fit into different categories! Since today is Wednesday we’re going to talk about working out and keeping your body healthy!

For many of the readers who have been reading for a little bit you know how much I enjoy yoga. I feel like it’s the perfect exercise for someone who’s looking to increase the health of there body and mind.

If you have been thinking about trying yoga I would highly recommend it! For me it has become a great time to step away from the stress and weight of work, finances, and other stressors. It gives me a time to reflect on my day positively and soothe any worries.

If you are new to yoga I would not recommend getting to ambitious to fast…pace yourself! You are not going to be a yogi guru your first session, allow your self the time you need to learn. Start by practicing a few poses everyday as you perfect them one by one start adding new poses before you know it you will be a pro and both your body and mind will benefit!

If any of you have any questions related to yoga send me an email I would love to help in any way I can.

Namaste,

Michelle

Bella’s Illness

image1-1This will be our third Christmas with Bella, every year she gets excited and uses her nose to sniff out all her treats wrapped under the tree. When we rescued two-year-old Bella from the MSPCA she was a little ball of energy. There were signs that she had been abused in her previous home so it took her a few months to feel safe and realize all image1we wanted to do was love her.
We wanted to give Bella the best most loving forever home we possibly could. We wanted her to feel safe and secure, loved, and wanted. Bella went multiple times a week to run with her friends at doggy daycare or as we called it school, she knew the days she wanted to go see her friends because she would bark and follow you around the entire time you were getting ready for work. Bella loves to watch the voice and lay in front of her fake fireplace.capture
We know that Bella didn’t have the easiest life in her previous home. When we adopted her we wanted to give her the best possible life we could give her. She is a sweet and lovingcapture7 Bulldog that wins over the hearts of anyone who has the pleasure of knowing her.

Recently Bella had started whimpering and crying out in pain. It has taken multiple Vets several weeks and many tests before they finally found what is causing Bella’s pain. capture4Through an MRI administered by a Neurologist they have been able to diagnose her with Inflammatory Brain Disease, this is a brain disease which is causing her severe pain; as well as, seizures and vertigo. As her family we want to give her every chance she has to live a full and happy life especially since Bella is only five years old. Vets have recommended a series of chemo treatments, steroids, and pain medicine to keep her comfortable.

capture5This makes me so sad not just because she’s my pup but because  She deserves to be happy and healthy!!!! We are blessed to have her grace our home with her spunk and personality.

There’s A Little Turkey In All Of Us

Hey Everyone,

Happy Monday, I know Mondays are typically nothing to be excited but I still hope you all had a great day!

It’s almost Thanksgiving here in America and you we can officially let the Holiday season begin! Just like most of the world, The holidays are always my favorite time of the year. The magic is everywhere people literally sing in the streets!

The best part about this time of the year is that you get to spend it with family and friends and the people who mean the most to you!

To me, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because you get to express your love and thankfulness for each other! Its a time to reflect on the year and think about who and what you are thankful for. It’s not all about Turkey even though who could resist that much food!

Usually, I would post something like this on the actual holiday but for me, it was one of those Mondays I needed a little bit of optimism and thoughtfulness! Since this post is early I hope you all take the next few days to think about who and what you are thankful for!

For example:

I am thankful for every single one of my followers and readers, not only do I feel your love and support on a daily basis but you have become such good friends! Regardless of if we have ever met or ever will meet you all have become a huge part of my life! I wish you all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!

XOXO,

Michelle

Cativersary

One year ago today Tyler and I found our little Kitty outside of our apartment complex! She was cold and hungry but so loving and kind!

IMG_0377                                                             First Photo With Tonks

She lived with us two days before we finally decided on her name! She took to us very fast and it was a relief when the vets gave her a clean bill of health!

She won the hearts of our friends and family, and before you knew it the lonely little kitty had the love of so many people!

People may say I am crazy for taking Tonks on walks in a stroller or for driving around with her in her car seat! But she has become like my child, we are there for each other, partners in crime!

So go ahead tell me I am crazy because I probably am! But over the last year Tonks has been with us through: planning a wedding, getting married, graduating college, holidays, and moving twice! That is a lot of bonding!

So here is to the last year, and to many more with my furry friend! We love you Tonks, you will always have a forever home with us!

Mindfulness

Hello Everyone!

Happy Saturday!

Today I want to talk to everyone about mindfulness! This is a post that my mother-in-law suggested but I didn’t know much about! After looking into mindfulness I realize it is the perfect topic for today!

So what is mindfulness? It is basically being aware of what’s happening the external and internal factors of life! It’s becoming aware of our thoughts feelings and experiences!

How can you practice mindfulness? Just make an effort of being present and aware. Some people choose to do this through meditation. Some people choose to do this through photography or Journaling; while others just set aside some time to absorb, realize and be mindful!

I hope you all take some time to be mindful and recognize these things that we so often over look in life!

Love you all,
Michelle

Healthy Living

Hello Everyone,
It’s Monday once again! The start of a new week!

Today I wanted to talk to you all about taking care of yourself!

From eating healthy, exercising regularly, practicing good hygiene and maintaining a good mental health! These are all so important to keeping yourself healthy and happy!

For eating healthy, I don’t mean you need to go to an extreme right away or cut out all the good tasting food! But maybe pick a side salad over a thing of French fries or replacing one of you morning coffees with a healthy smoothie! It’s amazing how little changes can help boost your energy and heal your body!

Like I’ve talked about in my past posts, I am a strong believer in yoga and palates! Just 20 minutes of these exercises help heal your body and relieve stress and tension!

Remember that practicing good hygiene is always important as well! Remembering to wash your face at the end of the day and pamper yourself every once in a while will help you feel rejuvenated!

Finally for good mental health, I recommend finding something that helps you relieve stress and escape from any problems maybe it’s reading maybe it’s painting for some people it’s yoga and for others it’s a musical instrument or poetry!

Maintaining good health is so important to living a full life! I hope you all make an effort to take control of your health and live a good long life!

I also wanted to mention a fellow blogger! Her name is Meagan, she had tweeted me yesterday about her blog! She had written a post about me and my blog which was extremely flattering and wonderfully written! I had checked out the rest of her blog and have really enjoyed it! I hope you all check her out as well! https://allthingsconquered.wordpress.com/2016/03/21/inspiring-the-girls/.
Love you all,

Michelle

Healthy Body Healthy Mind

Hello everyone,

Today I want to talk to you all about being good to your body and staying healthy! This is not a talk about how to lose weight or any crazy diets! It’s about YOU and your HEALTH!

I am an active supporter in keeping a healthy diet! It just makes you feel better. The saying you are what you eat is 100% true. You only have one body do not through away your one chance to live an exciting and healthy life.

Know I am not saying to live off of green smoothies and kale for the rest of you life (although they are good) but just make a conscious effort to feed your body good food! Choose a side salad over fries and drink water instead of soda, just these little changes can make a world of differences!

I am not a gym person, and I never have been. I feel weird being in a room packed full of sweaty people who honestly do not want to be there! and I get so bored staring at the same white walls while running on a stationary machine. Because of this, I exercise at home! I do a simple yoga video every other day and, belief me, it makes a world of difference!

I have always had problems with my back, constant visits to the chiropractor is a norm for me. But since I started doing yoga it has made a world of difference. I roll out my yoga mat in my living room and pick a workout off of Hulu ( the one in the picture is Yasmin Yoga), and I just do it I can pause it if I have to do something its perfect for me!

There are so many free exercise videos on youtube or on demand; you can pick what you want! From yoga to pilates, from boxing to weightlifting there’s no excuse why everyone can;t exercise!

I hope you all choose to keep your bodies healthy and happy.

Namaste,

Michelle

The Ceremony

We had arrived at the church 10 minutes before the ceremony started. We said a prayer and lined up for the march down the aisle. One by one my bridesmaids began to disappear through the doors and down the aisle. Before I knew it, the doors had closed again, and it was just my dad and me.

At this point, my nerves were at an all-time high. I had the same feeling you get right before you get in the world’s most intense roller coaster. My two cousins who were in charge of the doors were listening for the music to change as I began to hyperventilate.

The doors open and I looked up to see Tyler at the end of the aisle. All of a sudden all my nerves left it was just him and me. From there everything was perfect. I kissed my dad and mom at the end of the aisle and took the hand of the man who would become my husband in just minutes.

We listened to the pastor talk about what marriage means, Tyler’s cousin and my uncle read scripture, we let the unity candle, said “I Do”, and had our first kiss as husband and wife. Before I knew it, I was walking back down the aisle with my husband.

Everything was perfect, and we were married!
