Happy Monday, I know Mondays are typically nothing to be excited but I still hope you all had a great day!
It’s almost Thanksgiving here in America and you we can officially let the Holiday season begin! Just like most of the world, The holidays are always my favorite time of the year. The magic is everywhere people literally sing in the streets!
The best part about this time of the year is that you get to spend it with family and friends and the people who mean the most to you!
To me, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because you get to express your love and thankfulness for each other! Its a time to reflect on the year and think about who and what you are thankful for. It’s not all about Turkey even though who could resist that much food!
Usually, I would post something like this on the actual holiday but for me, it was one of those Mondays I needed a little bit of optimism and thoughtfulness! Since this post is early I hope you all take the next few days to think about who and what you are thankful for!
I am thankful for every single one of my followers and readers, not only do I feel your love and support on a daily basis but you have become such good friends! Regardless of if we have ever met or ever will meet you all have become a huge part of my life! I wish you all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!
I hope the weekend is treating you all well!
Today I want to talk to you all about graduation! It’s only March but before you know it this years senior classes will be walking across the stage in caps and gowns!
I was lucky enough to be able to finish my bachelor’s degree a semester early. Allowing me to look for my dream job a little before everyone else!
I may be finished with classes but this May I will still be honored to walk across the stage to accept my diploma along with all my friends and classmates!
At my school we had senior day last week we picked up our caps and gowns and our tickets for our family! It seemed very surreal to be thinking of everyone going their separate ways!
Some people will be staying here for grad school, others moving across the country for a job. After spending so much time surrounded by these people it’s insane to think of how many people I will never see again after May.
It makes me think of all the wonderful people I did not get the chance to know, the kids I never had class with and the ones who may have made great friends.
This part of your life goes by so fast and is so short that you truly feel like you may have missed out on part of it.
I owe so much to my university! It is where I met my husband, and some of my best friends. It is the place that I learned and experienced my first look into being an adult! It was where I matured and really had to grow up!
College is an amazing experience and I feel so grateful for all I have learned and all I have experienced!
I wish all the best for all the seniors getting ready to enter the real world! It may be another chapter ending but an even better one is about to begin!
I love you all,
The weekend is finally here! Happy Saturday!
Today I want to tell you all about my cat!
A few months ago me and my husband decided to take in the stray cat that was living around our apartment building!
She had been abandoned at some point and many of the neighbors had brought it upon themselves to start feeding her so she wouldn’t starve.
We live up north where there is lots of snow and frigid cold nights. I started to worry about her being all alone outside in the cold, so one day I went outside with some cat food picked her up and took her in.
We took her to the vets to make sure she was healthy, got her shots, and was not someone’s outdoor cat. It turned out that she had been fixed and was at some point someone’s pet.
She had been left by someone who decided they didn’t want to be bothered with a cat anymore.
Me and Tyler have done everything to make her feel at home and loved! We named her Tonks (from Harry Potter) She loves string and fancy feast. She always comes when you sing and I’m pretty sure Breaking Bad is her favorite show!
We took her in to save her but in return she has given us laughs, love and so much happiness! Tonks has added to much to our little family!
I hope if any of you decide to adopt a pet you look in to rescuing! Some of these animals have had hard lives every living thing deserves love and a good home!
Love you all
Happy Girls Day!
If you don’t know what Girls Day is don’t feel bad. Let me tell you all about it!
Girls day is a day in the Japanese Culture were they wait to wish the next generation of women good health and prosperity!

I’m so excited to share this adventure with all of you!
Love you all,
I hope you enjoyed the guest post from my husband yesterday! He was very excited to get to know you all!
Today I want to write to you about why I made this blog in the first place! Yesterday was my 100th post and I celebrated 3 years on wordpress last week! I feel like its about time that I restate my intent behind this blog.
I started writing my freshman year of college. It started as a way to relieve stress and feel like I was putting some good into the world. I wanted to write to women who needed a confidence boost and a little bit of help seeing their self worth!
I am a true believer that everyone is beautiful and we all deserve to know it! When I first started I was just hoping to reach a few girls and help them with the words I wrote! I remember when I got my first comment saying I helped someone, it was the best feeling ever! Over time I started receiving messages from girls asking for my advice and opinions, this is where a good chunk of my posts came from, I figured if one girl is having these problems others must be too!
I was very happy with my readers I felt like even though I had few readers I was helping those who I was able to reach. But last year everything blew up! I started getting hundreds of subscribers a day and thousands upon thousands of viewers. I tried to keep up with the messages but I am only one person. I began to feel like I wasn’t doing enough for all of you and that I was inadequate to be trying to help so many people. My posts began to get less frequent and eventually I stopped posting for months at a time.
Quite recently I have decided that I can only do the best I can but I still want to help! I am back to blogging everyday and trying to help as many people as I can. I must admit that writing anything that hundreds of thousands of people are going to read is a little daunting but I believe that my words can help!
I hope you have all enjoyed reading my posts over the last three years. Thank you for sticking with me, you all have told me time and time again of how much I have helped you, but you all have helped me too! You all have become my friends, people who I look forward to sharing my stories with. You have been with me through breakups, bad hair cuts, loss of family members, loss of friends, an engagement, and a marriage! So for always being on the other side of the internet I thank you!
I promise to do my very best to always be a loyal friend to all of you and to keep sharing love and advice!
My alarm started screeching at 9 AM. After not getting home till almost 2 am from the rehearsal dinner it seemed to be way to early for this. As I went to press the snooze button, something stopped me. It was my wedding day!
Believe me, when I say I am not a morning person, but I was on January 8th. I knew I needed all the time to prepare for 6 PM. Just 9 hours till the walk down the aisle. My morning began with several texts from my friends and family asking how I was holding up so far. I was surprisingly calm for the morning of the day that would change my life.
I started with my typical routine a quick shower, healthy breakfast, brushing my teeth, and then on to the fun morning with my mom… First I got my hair done at 11, nothing to fancy just some lovely curls. After that, I got my makeup done at a different salon. To me, it was important that I looked like me. I wanted Tyler too look at me and think that’s the woman I fell in love with. The last thing I wanted was over the top makeup that made me look like someone else. I did not want anything over the top, but rather a more polished version of my everyday appearance.
After this, I had to go straight to the hotel to meet my bridesmaids and the photographer. At this point, everything started to feel real! I had three hours till I walked down the aisle, to the man of my dreams! I never doubted that I should be getting married, I felt like the luckiest girl in the world on the luckiest day of her life! But I couldn’t help but feel anxious, it was the day I had been dreaming of since my first fairy tale. A day that I have built up to be the most wonderful and important day in my life. A day that will begin my new life and finally join Tyler and me on a journey through life as husband and wife. All these things started to run through my head as the time got closer and closer to 6 PM.
I was surround by my family and friends, but all I could think about was the butterflies in my stomach. The excitement… the nerves… So many emotion! The photographer kept snapping photos of us getting ready, we posed and smiled and then it was time.
5:45 Time to head to the church….
Hello all you beautiful people!
Today has been a day filled with Dawson’s Creek, which is just a typical Saturday in my house. I sit down with a Diet coke and a bag of chips and mindlessly watch the screen that is just overflowing with 90’s teen angst. Okay so confession time I am absolutely in love with all of these fictional characters, if my friends are busy I turn on Dawson’s creek where I know all of my friends from the creek will be there smiling even though they are going through the absolute most dramatic and life-altering experiences that any teenager would go through, just 10 times more dramatic. But during this marathon I was indulging in I heard my favorite quote “hope dies last”. I always forget that this quote is in this show which just gives me even more reasons to love the show.
I am not sure why this quote is my favorite I think it’s because even though it sounds sorrowful it rings with optimism. It is one of those quotes that can be interpreted differently by each reader. I take it as everything could be going wrong but you maintain your hope! It’s like watching a sad movie you know the wife is sick but you keep on hoping that their love will miraculously heal her and they will walk off into the sunset holding hands as the screen fades to black, and you know that everything will be okay. But the majority of the time these types of movies don’t end like this. It doesn’t seem to matter to us we still keep this hope.
I think this is a very good lesson in the real world too. Did you all know that JK Rowling (the writer of Harry Potter) was a welfare mom who wrote the Harry Potter novels in here spare time, even though she got turned down from published after publisher, who said she will never make any money off of these books, she maintained hope that she would one day get her big break. Well, her hope paid off and now she is one of the wealthiest women in the UK. This can happen to you too!! All you have to do is follow your dreams and keep your hope.
No matter how many people tell you you can’t, remember that you can. Things may seem far off or even impossible, but you can do whatever you set you heart and mind on. I believe in all of you but most importantly you need to believe in you too. The first step to completing any goal is to believe that you can complete and accomplish the goal. So when you decide what it is you want to accomplish, believe you can and then do it!!
Hello, everyone happy Saturday!
Today is the birthday of a very important woman Laura Ingalls Wilder. Most of you will know her as the woman who wrote the Little House On The Prairie books or even the little girl in the television show portrayed by Milissa Gilbert. in many ways this woman has made a big impact on my life since she died in 1957 I clearly have never met her. But the words that she wrote in her books have helped guide my through so many of life’s tricky situations. Sure, our lives were completely different, many of the lessons she wrote about can still apply to girls lives today.
Her words have gone on to inspire generations after generation. First the generations who read her books using their imaginations to envision what these strong characters looked like. Then the generations who were influenced by the television show that was on for 9 years. I grew up watching reruns and reading her books during my school reading hour. The adventures of Laura and Mary were inspiring to me and they also taught me so much about life. Sure I was never going to grow up on the Prairie or experience the fears of going blind like Mary did. But still these books and television episodes tell the stories of amazingly strong woman in a time where that wasn’t the norm.
To Me Laura Ingles Wilder is a role model, she was a woman ahead of her time.
