My Addiction Too…. Netflix

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all are having a great weekend!

Today I want to talk to you all about something we all do, binge watch TV shows. Netflix has seemed to become my outlet: When I’m stressed… Netflix When I am sad… Netflix When I’m bored… Netflix!

TV shows, movies, documentaries, yes I may be rotting my brain, but I am really enjoying myself while I do it!

So this isn’t my typical post, but I am getting there I promise…

We all have our guilty pleasures, and that’s okay sometimes to keep ourselves balanced and sane so don’t be ashamed of these things whether its TV, Video games, music, exercise whatever it is if it helps you get through whatever you are going through then its a good thing.

So remember to get off the couch every once and a while to do things that are good for you, get your work done, but also enjoy yourself. You aren’t living if you are not enjoying it!

FUN 

Hello all you beautiful people,

I apologize for the lack of posts over the last month. Between midterms and starting a new job, I was overwhelmed with obligations. But hey, it’s spring break time to get back to what I enjoy like this blog!

So today i  want to talk to you about fun. I’m sure we all have a different idea of fun it could be movies or a sport maybe shopping or even reading. Basically things that we like to do in our spare time. These things can be very important to a person’s sanity. For me, blogging is fun interacting with all of you and feeling like I’m helping a little bit.

Over the last few weeks, I have felt kind of overwhelmed with work school and housework and I know this time of year can be stressful for many people. It’s the time of the year when college students start looking at finals, adults do their taxes and all you high  school  seniors are trying to finalize your college choices. This time of year can be hard.

But at the same time this time of year is great the days start getting longer, the snow melts, the temperatures get warmer, you’re looking forward to summer or graduation or prom. These are the fun things that come along with this time of year. And they are just as important as all those stressful things that seem to way you down.

The best advice I can give to all of you is to slow down and breath every once and a while take some you time put down your work and do something fun. Try to focus on the good things that are coming not just the work. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel make sure you don’t get lost and always remember who you are and what’s really important!

Guilty Pleasures

Hey y’all

So today I wanted to talk to you about stress, happiness and guilty pleasures. Okay moms don’t worry this will be rated G I promise!

Many people do not understand the amount of stress the typical teenager is going through. There is friends, family, school work, relationships, social media, jobs, crushes, bullies. OMG make it stop!! I get stressed just talking about this stuff. I lived through all these stressors at one point or another! So let me start by telling you the truth… Stress will never go away but you can manage it, embrace it and kick stresses but!

When I was in High school I dealt with all the stressful things I mentioned just as many of you are experiencing now! But when I got to college everything changed, sure I still had a lot of these same stressors but I learned how to conquer them!

First the most important thing to know is that you will be okay whatever it is take a deep breath look in the mirror and remind yourself this is your life you are in control!!!

Next find your outlet! This can be tricky for me it is either to watch my favorite movie (The Breakfast Club) Watch my favorite TV Show (Dawsons Creek) Or read my favorite book (Battle for Honor: Gates) But for you this may be different! Maybe you like sketching or painting or bubble baths or working out or singing. Whatever you like to do whether you are bad or good do it!!

Next, talk to someone tell you friend, mom, sister, boyfriend, whoever! tell them you are stressed or sad I know from personal experience sometimes you need to hear from someone else that this is not the end of the world or maybe you need a hug!

Finally, look in the mirror again! know that  you have calmed down you can see it, your beautiful smile, or your sparkling eyes! Know that you are you and that you are in control!

Finding Things you Love

Hello everyone sorry for my lack of posts again with classes picking up my September has been stuffed full of books, quizzes, and late night studying, but hey thats the joy of college right? Well anyway I have finally found a time to get back to all of you wonderful readers!!

When I was thinking about what I wanted to write about I was cleaning up my dorm room! I came across my paperback copy of Battle of Honor:Gates. And it got me thinking about things that I love to do and what helps me distress when I come across my book I realized that there are things that I do with out thinking to help me go back to my happy place when it seems far away.

One of the things i like to do is this! I love writing to all of you guys and even writing back to the emails I get giving advice talking to my readers it really does make me feel like I make a difference in the world and when I get tired it keeps me going. When I get really stressed I love toread too.  That particular book, Battle Of Honor:Gates, I’m kinda obsessed with I have read it so many times that I’m pretty sure that I could recite it in my sleep. But when you find something you really love you just cant get enough of it. And this book takes me to a different world one of sic-fi perfection RJ Brousseau you are a genius.

So I guess what I am trying to tell you is find things that you love because the world can get stressful and you will need an outlet. Also find something that you find you are good at or you feel makes you who you are because those things will make all the stress worth it.
