Sleep Training In A Weekend

Hello Everyone,

So if you follow me on instagram you probably saw that recently Emma has been having. Harder time getting to sleep. We are still very lucky since once she it asleep she will sleep for 8-10 hours! However, I still see room for improvement. I have always had a very hard time getting to sleep since I was a kid, I don’t want Emma to have this same problem so we are trying to create good habits now.

So being my blogger self I turned to my fellow mommy bloggers for their own tips and experiences with sleep training. After reading maybe a million blogs about this I developed an extensive plan and I will need Tylers help so we are attempting to do this in a weekend, just two days!

I know you must think I am crazy but, I really do believe this can be done! I have read a few different blogs about sleep training in just a few days and it is 100% do-able!

From my research I know I need to develop a strict schedule that we stick to everyday with feedings and naps. Next I know I need to do strategic playtime so we tire her out throughout the day but do not over stimulate her at night. Third, and this one is the tough one! I need to put Emma in her crib when she is awake!!!

To me this sounds horrible, I do not ever leave Emma’s side and I do not want her to feel abandoned but I know this will help both of us in the long run. So with the help of my favorite baby monitor and my owlet I am emotionally preparing myself for this weekend. To help I am going to experiment the next few days with her activities to see what tires her out, versus what stimulates and wakes her up more.

Wish me luck. I will be documenting everything in real time via instagram stories so follow along, give me tips, and help a momma out @inspiringthegirls

Love you all,

Michelle & Emma
