Emma One Month Check

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a great weekend! Emma’s one month birthday was on Saturday and it was so nice to look back on the last month and celebrate everything she has already accomplished.

Unfortunately for little Emma turning one month comes along with a one month physical at her pediatrician. Today was a hard day since she received her second Hepatitis B vaccine which she did not like.

At Emma’s check up the nurses weighed her, and measured her length as well! In the last month Emma went from a small 6 pounds 1.4 ounces to 7 pounds 13 ounces! I am so proud of her for this progress having a baby who shows up early is scary because they are so small and you have to do everything to make sure they are eating and gaining weight!

When our doctor came in she started by answering all my slightly neurotic new mom questions! Most of them revolves around the fact that Emma has started getting fussy and gassy after meals and spitting up about an hour after she eats. I initially thought she was having a reaction to her formula when this started out of the blue, but the doctor said there was no problem with her formula she just has reflex and can get uncomfortable after eating. They are putting her on a medication to stop the reflux. She has to take it twice a day, and they will re-evaluate her symptoms in two weeks.

They did a full exam and said everything else looked healthy! What a relief!

I feel very fortunate to have such a good doctor for Emma! The pediatrician always reminds me to call the office with any questions no matter what time of day or night it is!

I have called the doctors on call with many questions and concerns. I can’t stress enough how important it is to reach out to your healthcare team if you have any concerns or questions about your baby’s health!

I will keep you all updated on little Emma’s follow up in a few weeks!

Love,

Michelle
